Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum won't be the only politician at the Dorchester County Republican Party's May 22 breakfast meeting by a long shot.

State GOP Chairwoman Karen Floyd, State Treasurer Converse Chellis, U.S. Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Gresham Barrett, several 1st Congressional District hopefuls and others also plan to show up, said Carroll S. Duncan, Dorchester County GOP head.

Duncan said the big showing proves that office seekers "realize the importance of the Republican vote in Dorchester County and that it is crucial to victory."

Santorum, a former senator from Pennsylvania who now heads America's Foundation and is a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Council, will be the featured speaker.

The breakfast, to be held at the Wescott Golf Club in Summerville, starts at 8:45 a.m. and costs $35, which will benefit the local party.

Those wishing to attend an 8 a.m. reception and photo opportunity will be asked to pay $100.
