CHARLESTON, SC -- Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, a Republican presidential hopeful, will join U.S. Rep. Tim Scott next weekend for a town hall in Dorchester County.

Santorum, who has campaigned extensively in South Carolina, will give an introductory talk and then field questions from the audience and from others via Facebook.

The event is set for 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12 at Miler Country Club in Summerville and is expected to last an hour. The Republican candidates are set to debate at 8 that evening at Wofford College in Spartanburg.

"The race for President in South Carolina is far from over," said Scott, who is withholding any endorsement until he gives all candidates a chance to join him at a town hall. Santorum is the fifth candidate to do so.

The series is cosponsored by many Republican county parties along the coast as well as tea party and 9/12 groups.

Scott said questions for Santorum can be posed at www.timstownhalls.com.
