S.C. lawmaker's husband ousts 16-year incumbent in Administrative Law Court race

Bill Funderburk, husband of state Rep. Laurie Funderburk, D-Kershaw, defeated a 16-year incumbent in a heated race for a seat on the state’s Administrative Law Court, according to The State newspaper in Columbia.

Lawmakers voted 87-50 to elect Funderburk, but more than a dozen members of the General Assembly abstained from the vote.

Incumbent Carolyn Matthews told the paper she was "stunned" and "totally shocked" by the outcome of the vote.
