Hispanic congressman explains immigration order at N. Charleston church

U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill.

U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez will be in North Charleston on Friday to speak to the Latino Association of Charleston about President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration.

Gutierrez, D-Ill., will be at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Ave., at 4 p.m.

The topic will be preparing communities and families and keeping them safe, a media announcement said.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, reportedly is preparing to sue the administration over the president’s decision to grant work visas to potentially millions of undocumented immigrants.
