Gov. Nikki Haley has announced her first town hall tour of South Carolina next month.

Haley, who promised on the campaign trail to keep voters well informed of state government, plans six town hall events next month that will be open to the public.

Her Charleston event will be at 6:30 p.m. March 16 in Randolph Hall at the College of Charleston, 66 George St.

Haley's office has described the events as a chance for her to discuss her agenda and how voters can move it forward, as well as new report cards designed to grade lawmakers on their support of pro-business and good government reforms. Those lawmakers also are being invited to attend.

Haley will kick off the tour on March 3 in Aiken. Before her Charleston stop, she will appear in Greenville on March 7, Myrtle Beach on March 10, Rock Hill on March 14 and Lexington on March 15.
