Gov. Nikki Haley put a lid today on persistent talk that after only five months in South Carolina's top spot she is positioning herself as the next Republican vice presidential Candidate.
Her press secretary, Rob Godfrey, said today that Haley is committed to four years as governor.
“The governor loves doing the job the people of South Carolina elected her to do and is not interested in the vice presidential nomination,” Godfrey told The Post and Courier.
A post on the political blog The Hill said the Republican governor had left the door open to "rounding out the party's ticket next fall."
