Former U.S. Rep. Arthur Ravenel Jr. today endorsed Mitt Romney for president.
Ravenel said he was backing Romney because he has the best shot of putting the White House back in Republican hands.
"I want to get rid of Mr. Obama," he said. "I don't think he's good for our country."
Ravenel, who also recently served on the Charleston County School Board, credited Romney for having the best background, campaign organization and finances to run a credible campaign.
His son, former state Treasurer Thomas Ravenel, who left office as a result of a cocaine scandal, had earlier endorsed Texas Rep. Ron Paul.
