COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore is making a trip to South Carolina as part of his presidential campaign.
Gilmore is traveling to Columbia On Tuesday. He’ll stop by the state’s Republican Party headquarters to file his papers for the state’s first-the-South GOP primary.
Gilmore entered the presidential race in July. The former Army intelligence officer completed one term as Virginia’s governor in 2002.
Also Tuesday, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s wife, Kelley Paul, is stopping by the state’s GOP headquarters to file her husband’s papers to participate in the GOP presidential primary.
Kelley Paul started her South Carolina trip on Monday, giving a keynote address at a luncheon hosted by the Hilton Head Island Women’s Club. She also attended a meeting of the Richland County Republican Party at Doc’s Barbecue.
