Donald Trump drops out of GOP forum in Greenville

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump arrives at a town hall event Thursday in Rochester, N.H. Trump dropped out of today’s Take Back America presidential forum in Greenville.

Donald Trump’s campaign sent out a last-minute news release Friday saying the Republican front-runner would not be participating in the “Take Back America” presidential forum today in Greenville.

The forum starts at 4 p.m. and continues to 10 p.m. on CNN.

“Mr. Trump has a significant business transaction that was expected to close Thursday,” the release says. “Due to the delay he is unable to attend today’s Heritage Action Presidential Forum. He sends his regrets and looks forward to being with the great people of South Carolina on Wednesday in Columbia.”

The forum will involve moderators Gov. Nikki Haley, former S.C. Sen. Jim DeMint and Heritage Action CEO Mike Needham asking questions for a period of 20 – 25 minutes to each candidate, who will take to the stage on their own. It’ll allow for them answer questions head on, without having candidates speaking over each other.
