Perry's wife campaigns in Charleston area

Anita Perry, wife of Texas Gov. and GOP presidential contender Rick Perry, will campaign in Charleston today.

She will meet with Charleston and Berkeley County GOP activists at 8 a.m. at the Daniel Island Grill at 259 Seven Farms Drive.

She then will tour the Congressional Medal of Honor Museum aboard the aircraft carrier Yorktown at 11 a.m.

The best chance for the public to meet with her might be when she gets together with Charleston Southern University's Young Republicans from 12:30-1:30 p.m. today.

That event, open to the public, will be held in the Gold Room of the school's Strom Thurmond Center.

Gingrich campaign lists S.C. appearances

Newt Gingrich will visit Hilton Head Christian Academy Lower School at 10 a.m. today. At 12:30 p.m., he will open his Beaufort field office at 1247 May River Road in Bluffton and will host a 1 p.m. town hall at the Bluffton Promenade, 1100 Promenade St.

At 6 p.m., Gingrich is set to appear at a S.C. Republican Party dinner and town hall at the Newberry Opera House.

On Wednesday, he will host a town hall meeting at Tommy's Ham House in Greenville.
