Berkeley County Democrats will hold an old-fashioned stump meeting Saturday and are expected to hear from three Democratic state lawmakers.

They include state Reps. Gilda Cobb-Hunter of Orangeburg and Joe Jefferson of Pineville. State Sen. John Matthews of Orangeburg also is expected to speak.

Of the three, only Jefferson has opposition on Nov. 6, when he faces Republican Alan Weiss.

The stump event is expected to run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Spiers Landing Road South in Cross.
