North Charleston Police seized a large amount of cash Wednesday after two men tried to buy a kilo of cocaine from a confidential informant, police said.
Police charged Alvin Anthony Grant, 22, and Jermaine Aiken, 30, both of North Charleston, with trafficking cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Spencer Pryor, North Charleston Police public information officer, said Grant arranged to meet the confidential informant on Northwoods Boulevard to buy a kilo of cocaine.
Pryor said Aiken drove Grant to the meeting. Police arrested both men when Grant showed the informant a large amount of cash, Pryor said.
Both men are scheduled to appear before a bond judge today.
Pryor did not release how much money was seized.
