Police need help identifying Summerville bank robber

This man is wanted in a BB&T robbery in Summerville.

SUMMERVILLE Police are asking for help solving a bank robbery on North Main Street Thursday afternoon.

The robbery occurred at 3:45 p.m. at the BB&T branch at 904 N. Main St.

Summerville Police Capt. John Rogers said a man passed a teller a note and told her he had a weapon. The man fled the bank without incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot, 7-inches tall, about 140 pounds. He wore a white baseball cap and a black shirt with white trim. He appears to have long hair, possibly a dark blonde color.

No other customers were in the bank and no one was injured, Rogers said.

Rogers said this is the fourth robbery in town limits since July 1st. Two of the three previous robberies have been solved.
