Police identify man wanted for downtown bank robbery

Clyde Spillers is wanted in connection with the robbery at the First Citizens Bank at 317 Meeting St. on Sept. 20.

Charleston police are searching for a 58-year-old man accused of robbing a downtown bank last week.

Clyde Spillers of Marie Street in Charleston is wanted in connection with the robbery at the First Citizens Bank at 317 Meeting St. on Sept. 20.

Police said a man with a cut on his arm and wearing a Dale Earnhardt hat robbed the bank at 10:55 a.m. No one was hurt.

Spillers is a white male, about 5-foot-7, 175 pounds. He does not have any prior arrests in South Caroilna, according to a State Law Enforcement Division criminal history check.
