A detainee dubbed Houdini after twice escaping in Dorchester County remained at large Wednesday.

Authorities have scoured the places where he might hide and followed leads, but they found no sign of him, said 1st Sgt. Michael Miller with the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office. "We're just waiting for someone to turn in a tip," Miller said.

Adam Lee Longa, 29, escaped early Monday morning by slipping out of his cuffs and shackles and leaping from a moving patrol car. Last fall, he escaped from the Dorchester County jail by lingering after a Bible study class and sneaking out through a space above the ceiling.

Longa was last seen wearing black-and-white striped jail garb, an orange T-shirt, gray socks and no shoes.

To provide information on his whereabouts, call the Sheriff's Office at 873-5111 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
