Charleston County Sheriff's deputies have called off a search for a man who fired shots during an argument with his father.
Deputies responded to 9501 Koester Road at 11:45 a.m. The father told them he had an argument with his son, and that his son fired shots and ran out the back door. No one was injured.
Ladson Elementary School, 3321 Ladson Road, was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure, administrators said.
Authorities had set up a perimeter near the school and were using dogs and a helicopter to search the surrounding area for Alfonza Jones Jr., but that search was called off just before 2 p.m.
Jones, 28, is charged with failure to comply on a previous, unrelated incident.
Sheriff's Maj. Clark said Jones will be charged in connection with Monday's shooting.
