Two men were arrested after the Blue Water Station at 200 Spring St. in Charleston was robbed at knifepoint about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

One of the suspects held a knife to the throat of one of the two store clerks, Charles Francis, public information officer for Charleston police, said. The men then took money from the cash register and the safe, plus four packs of cigarettes, he said.

The description of the suspects was given to police units in the area, Francis said, and an officer spotted two men fitting the description of the suspects entering a cab. The cab was detained.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, James Michael Hackley, 48, of East Bay Street, and Stephen Eric Hunter, 45, of Greenland Road, are both charged with armed robbery. They were arrested within an hour after the incident. Both men are being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
