Three Knights, Cobras make all-region team

John Shelton

Cane Bay pitcher John Shelton was one of three selections for the Cobras.

The All-Region 7-AAAAA baseball team has been released and region champion Berkeley High School leads the way with both of the superlative selections.

Berkeley pitcher Jeffrey Zeigler was selected player of the year and Stags coach Landy Cox the coach of the year.

Three other Stags players were named to the team: third baseman Jesse Free, catcher Hayden Dawson and pitcher Rhett Legette.

Cane Bay and Stratford, which finished second and third in the region standings, had three selections apiece.

Pitcher John Shelton, first baseman Noah Panezich and outfielder Tyler Pruitt made it for the Cobras while catcher Travis Lott, pitcher Josh Davis and shortstop Dylan Stewart represented the Knights.

Goose Creek catcher Jackson Price was the Gators’ lone all-region selection.

Jared Aden and Reed Garris made it for Wando and Bobby Alexander and Jaxon Weatherford were James Island’s selections.
