A few days ago, while I was waiting in line at a supermarket, a young woman in front of me paid for her groceries with a SNAP card.
This young woman and hundreds of thousands of others are the product of President Lyndon Johnson’s policies. He thought the best way to create a “Great Society” was to take money away from those who work to support those who don’t.
If President Johnson was living today I would like to tell him, “Mr. President, you cannot create a Great Society out of government handouts.”
Great societies have emerged for thousands of years out of two things: Responsibility and hard work, period.
