We all know that some people who join law enforcement are looking for power. I retired from the military where on occasions I recognized that same motivation in action. Twice I was called on the carpet by persons who were power hungry. Both times the persons were punished for their actions.

Yes, they have authority, but they soon found out it doesn’t mean power. Therefore, someone who wants to be a police officer should first be tested by a professional to determine his personality.

A police officer’s job is to be a public safety officer — not a public tyrant.
