Thank you for your articles on the state’s politicians. In the Nov. 1 Post and Courier you exposed how their connections get them business deals with state and local governments.
Past articles have shown that they use campaign money to go into their family or friends’ businesses. They also use campaign money for trips and gas. One politician gasses up two or three times a week and lives less than 100 miles from Columbia.
Who is policing the politicians? When they say we need ethics reform, they are just giving lip service. Both sides of the aisle are to blame.
Ken Ard, Robert Ford and Bobby Harrell got punished. They might just be the tip of the iceberg.
