It is a personal privilege to inform the community that a local history collection to highlight and recall the efforts and challenges of those Charlestonians dedicated to the goals of tolerance and equal participation has been established at the Charleston County Academic Magnet High School.

The contributions of African-American and Jewish Charlestonians will be a special focus of the collection. The exhibit will also travel to allow all students to learn about their achievements. Bookplates will memorialize those citizens.

It is the hope that this precise undertaking in these precise times will kindle a light. One more candle to extinguish darkness.
