Our beautiful Charleston has once more been invaded. Large “shoebox” buildings aim, it seems, to change our skylines and steeple views, and the Department of Transportation has decimated our forested I-26 median near Jedberg, despite numerous pleas from citizens. Everyone wants to save the South American rain forests. Many wanted to save our beautiful forest along the interstate as well.

The entrance to the No. 1 city in the world, now has the concrete feel of Los Angeles. Requests for building permits appear to beg for concrete, glass and metal — designs akin to the 1950s era. But Charleston is loved and admired for her beautiful buildings.
