Recently, after a long, tedious conversation with my cable, Internet, phone provider (which did not resolve an issue to my satisfaction), I abruptly ended the call. At that moment, I remembered the old corded phones. The ones with a dial — the receiver weighed eight pounds.
They were almost indestructible. When you slammed that phone onto the cradle, it made your anger plain to the offending party. This time, when I hung up, all I did was jam my index finger.
Maybe there’s an app for that.
