Thank you for the April 3 article regarding cruelty to animals. Unfortunately, those who treat animals cruelly don’t read or care what is written the newspaper, and it’s known that many adult criminals have been abusive to animals as children.

People need to speak up if they see or know of an animal being abused. Where to speak up? Call animal control or a shelter and they will give you the correct number to call.

Do something to help, don’t wait for somebody else to do it. It only takes one voice to begin an avalanche on a mountain by a yell. I’m yelling.

Charleston Animal Society in North Charleston has been a refuge and comfort to all animals.

So has Pet Helpers.

Those hard-working, caring people need support from all communities in Charleston to stop animal abuse.
