Decision makers, especially those who have pushed to create a trial bike lane on the Legare Bridge by closing one lane of traffic are not showing foresight.

My husband, when a motorcyclist, was extremely cautious on grooved pavement and metal grates lest he lose his balance or control.

Consider the width of a bicycle tire compared to that of a motorcycle, and the prospect looms that a bicyclist could lose his balance while crossing the drawbridge grates of the Legare Bridge.

Just think of that human being thrust onto the metal bridge grates and incurring unthinkable damage. Or the bicyclist could be thrown into the traffic lane as a result of the fall. Not a pretty thought.

I pray that no one is injured on the proposed bike lane.
