Something that makes no sense to me is how Santee Cooper management and our state government, who are charged with providing service to homeowners and industry, are thinking.

Admittedly, I am just a country boy with a high school education and without the benefit of a four-year degree. But for the life of me I cannot understand how zero income works out to a better deal than a million dollars a month, assuring the continuance of 600-plus high paying jobs, continuing the almost $1 billion economic benefit to our region and state, and the assurance to make them whole for any loss caused by the necessity to increase cost to other customers.

Perhaps someone at Santee Cooper with a better understanding of the situation will explain it to me and the rest of the less educated public.
