When the Mount Pleasant Town Council considers the proposed roundabout at Coleman Boulevard and Old Georgetown Highway, I hope it takes into account the four successful businesses that will be affected by that construction project. Royall Hardware, Johnny’s Hotdogs, Haddrell’s Tackle and East Cooper Sporting Goods are all vibrant parts of the Mount Pleasant economy.
Not only will this project affect their traffic during the construction, but the businesses will be infinitely more difficult to access, with the confused routing of traffic shown in the plan. Also council should consider the adverse effect an accident occurring in the roundabout would have.
Why put so many variables into the equation by installing this confusing addition?
