As a wife and mother of military veterans, I agree wholeheartedly with a Feb. 21 letter calling for reinstating the draft. But let’s go further.

“No one should be allowed to become or even run for president unless he or she has served time in the military.” That is a quote from my son-in-law and it’s true. A minimum of two years should be served.

Many would not have their names on the ballot if this were a prerequisite.

Check your history — most of our accomplished presidents have a military background.
