In the movie “Scrooge” a collector for a charity states: “At this festive time of year, Mr. Scrooge, it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the poor and destitute. Because it is at Christmastime that want is most keenly felt, and abundance rejoices. Now what can I put you down for?” We are all familiar with Mr. Scrooge’s reply.

In Summerville many have heard the call of the needy and have responded generously. The elderly and home bound are often overlooked during the Christmas season. They cannot cook, drive or live alone, and most have no family to look in on them.

We are in need of blanket throws, grocery certificates, and new bed pillows. Thank you in advance for helping to clothe and feed the elderly and disabled.

Meals on Wheels is located at Ambler Hall on the campus of St. Paul’s Church in Summerville. The address is Box 592, Summerville, S.C., 29484. Their number is 843-873-8224.
