As the lead editorial stated in the April 3 issue of The Post and Courier, the nuclear deal with Iran buys time. The effort in reaching agreement was long and agonizing.

In the months and years ahead I feel it is important for individuals on both sides to reach out to the other side to develop friendships and cultural ties. In the final analyses people can create bonds everywhere despite the friction that governments generate.

The effort of the next generation will be particularly important.
