I sent Delaney Goodrich, manager of RB’s Seafood Restaurant, a letter stating that the glare from new parking lot lights was objectionable, especially in the beautiful and tranquil Shem Creek area.
To my surprise, Mr. Goodrich showed up at my door soon after he received my letter, acknowledging that the intensity of the parking lot light was too much. He also indicated that his boss, Ronnie Boals, would pay to have the angle of the parking lot lights adjusted so that the light shines only on and in the immediate vicinity of RB’s parking lot.
Mr. Boals’ timely corrective action to reduce the glare speaks volumes about him as a person who cares about the environment and light pollution. He willingly did what was right. It also indicates that RB’s Seafood Restaurant is an outstanding corporate citizen of the local community.
