Bees Ferry Road has been widened; trees have been planted in the median; small arrangements have been installed on the sides of the road. But very little, if any, maintenance has been done. Weeds are up to two feet tall, dead trees are abundant and no one can see the arrangements since everything is overgrown.

This is an example of poor planning. Had an understory of perennials such as grasses or other low maintenance plants been chosen, maintenance would be minimal.

Look at Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant and the Crosstown for good, well thought-out design.

West Ashley got short changed and deserves better.
