What’s wrong with our government? If low-income people don’t have the money to pay for the new health care plan they will be fined. Where are they going to get the money to pay the fine? It sounds like debtors’ prison.

I am 80 years old and a government retiree. I don’t have a computer and have no knowledge of how they work, but I am informed by Office of Personnel Management retirement operation center that my 1099R will no longer be sent to me. I’m told I have to get the information online — information vital to tax filing.

Online requires a password, which I’m required to retrieve from the computer I don’t have.

There is something wrong here. I am certain many other retirees depend on the information on the 1099R they apparently are not going to get.

I was under the mistaken impression that things would be easier for the “little” people, not more difficult.
