I recently watched a television program on military history titled “Nazi Collaborators.” I read in the June 1 edition of The Post and Courier the article about Nazis being given Social Security benefits while here and being promised their continuing payments if they left the country.

My first thought was, it appears the Department of Justice should be added to the list of collaborators.

The payments were made between 1962 and January of this year when, finally, a New York representative paid attention to an October 2014 report by The Associated Press.

Where are the politicians who “protect” us and our money? Why wasn’t something done much sooner and why did the AP do the investigation, not the Social Security department?

And we wonder why Social Security is going broke. I find it disgusting that we helped these people evade justice and paid them to do it.
