The Post and Courier reported that after assassinating nine Emanuel AME Church members, the killer backed his car out of the church parking lot.
By doing so, he prevented the cameras in the parking lot from photographing his license plate, which was on the rear of the car. Fortunately he was caught quickly, but a smarter terrorist could easily have evaded such a fast capture.
Let us help law enforcement by reintroducing front and back license plates. They used to be the order of the day in South Carolina, and I am wondering why we switched to one plate. The answer is likely to be money.
The addition of one more plate cannot be that expensive and will be well worth it. Let us promptly return to the original system of two license plates so that security cameras can do their job helping to minimize crime.
