I wonder if our economy needs new job creation to keep the unemployment rate going down. With 300,000 baby boomers hitting age 65, a lot of job openings are being created. And they won’t get filled by illegals.
America is facing the greatest labor shortage in its history over the next five years. But that should have been expected. At every stage baby boomers have had a dramatic effect on society. So when the government announces that only 125,000 jobs were created, just consider that a breather before the storm, a chance to keep interest rates lower for another few months.
Corporate America needs to look at the over 9 percent of the labor force that is working part-time, but looking for full-time employment. They are the hidden labor force.
