The mother of a Baltimore teenager who was caught on video disciplining her son who was about to join the riots, was labeled a child abuser by some, but hailed as Mother of the Year by most.

Even the Baltimore chief of police said he wishes there were more like her.

In today’s world a lot of people frown on that kind of punishment. But as a child of the ’50s and ’60s this was the norm for us. We rarely got into trouble with the law and were productive law-abiding citizens.

And then along come the politicians telling folks how they should raise their kids. In my opinion, they are the reason for what we see almost on a daily basis.
