In response to your Feb. 10 article titled “Should we live without it? Suit challenges city’s Livability Court in S.C. Supreme Court”: We want to express our neighborhoods’ strong support for the city’s Livability Division.

Dan Riccio and his code enforcement officers provide an invaluable service to downtown residents by monitoring both the safety and quality of life in our community. Their efforts and those of Judge Michael Molony ensure the timely and effective resolution of neighborhood problems.

The benefit of Livability Court to our beautiful city cannot be overstated; those who would diminish its function clearly do not have Charleston’s best interests in mind.
