In response to the Aug. 29 letter “Where’s the love?” we thank God that someone else understands the core message of all the major religious denominations, “We are to love our neighbor as ourselves.”

Each act of love, including giving money to the homeless on our street corners, improves the moral fabric of our society. Elected officials need to work to enhance the quality of life for all city residents.

Perhaps, when making decisions we need to ask who benefits, and who’s left out. When the group that’s left out always seems to be those most in need, we diminish the quality of life for all.
