I never thought I would see the day that The Post and Courier would endorse the same Republican candidate as The New York Times. I wonder if that has something to do with the Quinnipiac poll that shows John Kasich beating Hillary by eight points.
Then there is the governor of our fair state. Several days after saying that she might not endorse anyone, she comes out for Marco Rubio. I wonder if someone from the Rubio team promised her a vice president’s slot.
Then we have the gain in popularity by Ted Cruz with evangelicals of the state. Makes you wonder if Christianity has a future.
But never worry, the party that used to be the home of bluebloods is now the redneck party. And Donald Trump is their man. Pickup trucks and Trump stickers. That is the immediate future of the GOP. Longer term it spells disaster — a Frankenstein created by Rupert Murdoch and his Fox News crowd.
