The definition of insanity is doing the wrong thing over and over again.

It appears the mayors of Folly Beach and the Isle of Palms are planning once again to seek federal funds to renourish battered beaches along the Atlantic Ocean’s “millionaire row.”

It seems this has become an annual exercise in beach erosion repair futility.

Owners of property along these beaches appear to have three options: Sell their property to another unsuspecting millionaire; build a Donald Trump-like wall to prevent future sand erosion; or move their homes back hundreds of feet from the sea, which would cost what has already been wasted on past renourishment programs.
