In a Feb. 19 op-ed Paul Greenberg praises and criticizes some past presidents. In his criticism of James Madison, he failed to mention that Madison was the principle author of the Constitution of the United States.

We have had some truly bad presidents, but despite James Madison’s problems, let us honor him as the main author of the Constitution.

Much of the fighting these days among the candidates for the presidency concerns the Constitution.
