I am responding to a letter from a Citadel graduate.

I put on the ring today. It was easy. I refuse to let the thoughtless actions of a few young people negate the leadership and achievements of those The Citadel has produced over the last 173 years.

The rest of the writer’s letter I simply dismiss as his own agenda. Otherwise, if it was that easy to quit wearing his ring, then it probably didn’t mean that much to him to start with.

Personally, mine will come off when rigor mortis confirms the inevitable — maybe.
