I believe in constructive punishment. The Citadel students who dressed up in white hoods like the KKK should each perform 100 hours of community service helping the Charleston black community. The Citadel should award several scholarships for that community in addition to ones in existence. The students should report on what they have learned by their service.

This is a much better outcome for all. It’s called constructive punishment where the students and the school learn from this horrific poor judgment, and something positive comes from it.
