It was stated in a March 25 editorial that El Nino will weaken and transition to a La Nina as early as the fall, which means cooler than average temperatures, and “that’s not exactly cause for a sigh of relief.” For sure.

It has been El Nino that has caused wind shears of the hurricanes in the Atlantic, and has reduced the number and severity of such storms. With La Nina the wind shears will be less, and we can look forward to more hurricanes this fall.
