As I read the proposed new plans for the Sgt. Jasper building, two things stuck out. The people spoke, and the Beach Company reacted. No matter what The Beach Company proposes, these same people won’t be happy.

But as John Darby said, “The company needs no zoning change —only approval from the BAR.” That’s a game changer, and it reminded me of the old saying: Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. The article also says the 20th floor will be used to house the mechanical equipment.

Here’s my two cents’ worth:

I hope The Beach Company will put feelers out for an upscale restaurant to be located on the tip-top of this new building. The views would be spectacular.
