Hanna Raskin’s article of Sept. 3 has convinced me not to enjoy Restaurant Week this year. She says: “Restaurants are never at their best during Restaurant Week. They’re swamped with customers, and turning out food designed to be made cheaply, quickly and in huge quantities.”

In past years, I have thought of Restaurant Week as a good way to try a restaurant that is a little out of my normal routine. Now I know this is not a good time to make a decision.
