I saw on the news last week that Iraq was holding its first election since the expulsion of the Islamic State. They showed the voters presenting a picture ID and then having their thumb print scanned.
After they cast their ballot their thumb was dyed blue to prevent them from voting again. There were smiles all around for the ability to exercise that right.
It’s funny that for some in this state it seems to be an inconvenience to have to get a picture ID to exercise that same right.
