FROM THE PARK BENCH: The Thanksgiving week schedule

The Riverview Park Activities Center will be open Nov. 22 - Nov. 24 at our regular operating hours of 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. The Activities Center will be closed for the Thanksgiving holidays on Thursday, Nov. 25, Friday, Nov. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 28. The Activities Center will be open on Saturday, Nov. 27 from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Come get your post Turkey dinner workout on Saturday!

Yoga classes for members and non-members are held every Thursday at noon in the craft room. The yoga classes are now included in our membership fee and are $5 per class for non-members. A new Tuesday class will be starting on November 23 at 12:30 p.m.

Don’t forget the City of North Augusta’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 5 p.m. -6:30 p.m. at Calhoun Park and Lookaway Hall. We officially kick off the Christmas season in North Augusta with Mayor Williams pulling the switch at approximately 6:10 p.m. to light up all the Christmas decorations in the parks and downtown streets of North Augusta. Be sure to check out the green lights on the Martintown Road Greeneway Bridge!

Registration for youth basketball is now in progress and runs through November 21. You may register at the Riverview Park Activities Center or use our online registration at www.northaugusta.net. Leagues are available for children ages 4-18 and include recreation leagues and competitive leagues. Evaluations and drafts will begin on Monday, Nov. 22. League games are tentatively scheduled to begin on December 11-16 before taking the Christmas holidays off. Games will resume on January 4th when students return to school.
